Are You Afraid of The Biblical God?Does This Fear Stunt Your Intelligence?
by frankiespeakin inare you afraid of the biblical god?.
are you afraid of a god that can read your mind.
if so have you ever considered this a form of mind control?

To me, your question is "spot on" as to why so may have difficulty permanently severing themselves from an organization that doesn't work for them! It is that phantom "Beautiful Mind" character looking over their shoulder which haunts some for a lifetime that your insight reminds me of. Former JWs are often confused and angry because they can not shake the shackles of a "gotcha" mentality which exists only within their mind.
The affect of such fear not only stunts and retatrds growth but creates difficulty with everyday relationships since the afflicted subconsciously look at everyone as they believe God would want them to ...

This much I have come to believe ...

there is no evidence of life after death.
without pain, sickness, and death no god could exist.. control is the ultimate goal of all mankind.

· All things have a beginning and an end
· There is no evidence of life after death
· Without pain, sickness, and death no God could exist.
· Control is the ultimate goal of all mankind
· All things remain “uncertain” until after they occur
· Truth and fiction are the same color in a different light
· The friends of the jester are many, of the visionary, few
· Damage done can not be reversed … it can only be identified
· Better by far to be arrogant than to lack self-esteem
· You are only as happy as you are alone
· One can not disavow the soil and roots from whence they have come and will eventually return to
· It is no one person’s obligation to alter history
· We all benefit or pay for our choices. Nothing else is due or owing
· Habits are easier to make than choices
· There is no such thing as a present without a cost
· What others think about us is not our business
· No problems can exist as long as they are called something else’s.
· It is the lack of money that is actually the root of all evil …
· The family arrangement only works when members treat each other as if they were neighbors
· Time and old age repair all character flaws
· We can’t discard the hand life gave us … we can only play it better
· Life is mostly competition
· Better to be considered a rat jumping off of a sinking ship than a courageous Captain going down with it
· Ignorance is considered brilliant when uttered by those in authority.
· Beauty automatically opens the same doors that beasts must break down
· A slave will choose “safe” over “sound.”
· Life often withholds till last that which is needed most
· Only the wise confess they are ignorant.

Cathy stopped by today. I hadn't seen her for some time. In fact our last encounter ended poorly.
Cathy is a truely beautiful 27 year old single knock out and second-generation JW. Whats's more, she has a pleasing personality and seems empathetic. As many she had towed the line since childhood and refused to even date "worldly" men. By her own admission her jobs amounted to a series of positions given to her by males hoping for a shot at her prize. She played the game well, living with Witness relatives and being treated as a queen by "christian" wannabootys.
But it all got old for Cathy. She had invested nothing in herself and had become totally dependent on the group for support. She called herself an organizational "Whore," serving people in exchange for a livelyhood.
The last time we had talked before today I told her that while it was soley her business what church she belonged to or who she had scammed ... that I was making it my business to know what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. I told her to get an education and use her looks to either move ahead in the secular world or capture a guy who had a master plan of support, regardless of his faith. That's when she did what many do ... she denounced me and defended the "truth," while at the same time admitting that the whole thing might be a "cult." We parted abruptly and I never heard from her for a year ... until today.
She now admits that although she hated me at the time for my advise she now knows I was providing an option and she thanked me. I again reiterated that she had the right to be anything she wanted but not because of a need to please anyone else. I told her to be the best Catholic, Jew, Witness, or Atheist that she could and that I would applaud her choice ... as long as it is her choice. She says she now knows what she must do.
Cathy and I might have a future, who knows. What's important is if I can in some small way help to free her from a bondage which has retarded and limited growth for this soul exhibiting "star potential."
Many of us have such latent potential! Move ahead!

Please allow me to answer the question with a Bible principle:
"Let God be FOUND true ..."
It's in the pudding!

Agree with BabaYaga ...
I might add that individuals will come and go during our life who make us feel better about ourselves. We will assign them a certain unique designation yet, to me, a soul mate amounts to the best I can attract at the time. If the day comes when either or both in a relationship change the "made in heaven" union can become "bonds of hell." This is seen among households wher one is a JW and the other is not.

Why don't you just take it like a man?
by AK - Jeff inin a recent thread, i was basically called out in this manner.. here is part of the quote:.
mean no disrespect with the following but i have to ask, when you disassociated yourself what did you think would happen?
did you expect witnesses to suddenly change to accommodate you?

Anger is fine until it affects ones health and longevity. I have too often seen early death as regards those emotionally upset for complaints which could have been concluded. Whichever position works best, to ignor past abuse or to periodically highlight same, each of us will benefit or pay for our own choice. He/she who lives longest wins!
One point of confusion: It has been mentioned in several posts that the organization is counting on silence from past members ... yet, is it not our unproclaimed purpose to silence the WBTS by use of protest and education? If not, why are so many offended by words that are spoken by current members. Should we simply not consider the source and move on?
